The Leader's Journey program uses self-awareness tools, feedback, and simulation activities to move each individual towards personal mastery. Through personal profile, assessments, group discussions, simulation activities, videotape feedback, self-reflection, and coaching, your experience will be unique to you and your organization
Day 1: Increase Leadership Influence through Personal Mastery
- Team building among fellow workshop participants
- Review Leader's Journal Model
- Introduction to the DISC Learning Instrument and Model; Review individual reports
- Engage in a series of experiential activities to explore styles, strengths, behavior patterns, and our impact on others
- Individual journaling
Day 2: Lead for Performance: Exploring Situational Leadership
- Explore the Situational Leadership Model, understand the two basic leadership behaviors and the four basic leadership styles
- Identify your preferred leadership style
- Learn to analyze your team members's development level for given tasks and situations
- Gain flexibility at adapting your style to meet the needs of your team members in different situations
- Learn about the leader's role in fostering a cohesive, productive team climate
Day 3: The Dynamic Team Environment: Trust, Conflict, and Mental Models
- Explore the business case for why trust matters
- Examine mental models (assumptions, perceptions, and pre-conceived ideas)
- Identify strategies for enhancing personal effectiveness
- Explore conflict handling styles and build skills to effectively handle interpersonal conflict
- Build a "take it home" strategy including an Individual Development Plan

Follow-up for the Leader's Journey include a 360-degree feedback assessment with one-on-one debrief as well as the options outlined below:
Option 1:
Bi-Weekly one-on-one coaching sessions for a period of 3-6 months. Coaching will be designed around individual needs, focused on guiding participant further along the path to personal mastery and influential leadership in practice. These sessions are pertinent to ensure that individuals, in the busyness and pressures of the work environment, will not return to "business as usual," but will make needed adjustments to implement training and learning.
Option 2:
Participate in bi-weekly or monthly group coaching sessions with program peers for a period of 3-6 months. The purpose of these sessions is to reinforce training content and discuss application and results. This is an opportunity for group coaching around real-time issues and opportunities. Based on the needs of the group, new concepts to further the learning may be introduced.
