Philosophy:
In the economic era ahead, with mounting awareness to interconnectedness and the "side effects" of globalization, business leaders are facing completely new scenarios, new opportunities, and unprecedented challenges. Thriving in the years and decades ahead requires a renewed focus on and commitment to developing a high performance culture and nurturing fulfilling interpersonal and team relationships. These relationships are grounded in trust, authentic communication, and commitment to a shared purpose, direction, and vision. We believe that every individual has the internal wisdom necessary to create this type of meaningful relationship and to positively impact their own success and the success of their organization. Helping individuals to tap into their internal wisdom is one of our great passions at Sherpa.
Sherpa's 5-Step Process to Outstanding Customer Experiences:
Step 1 Needs Assessment:
Using online surveys and personal interviews we will get to know group members, their hopes and priorities for the teambuilding session and their thoughts around important session take aways.
Step 2 Pre-Session Team Survey:
In most cases, our clients come to us seeking assistance with specific challenges their team is experiencing. In these cases, it is valuable to evaluate the extent of applied learning back on the job. This is evaluated by measuring increase in knowledge and/or behavior adaptation using a before and after team assessment. In other cases, our clients come to us seeking a fun, meaningful teambuilding experience, without getting into specific business or workplace issues. In these cases, the pre and post team survey may not be desired. We work with our clients to tailor the process accordingly.
Step 3 Customized Design:
Having gained important knowledge and background about the group, we will tailor our proven template designs accordingly or develop a new design specific to the client situation.
Step 4 Leadership Coaching Session:
The assessment we use in Step 2 provides invaluable information about the team's stage of development* and their leadership needs. Our process involves a follow-up session with the team leader. During this session your Sherpa Project Manager will:
- Review assessment results and our insights/observations from our time spent with the team
- Discuss the team's needs from a leadership perspective; 3) establish goals and co-create an action plan. If desired, a Sherpa Coach can provide on-going guidance and accountability for implementing action plans.
Step 5 Post-session Team Survey:
Four to six months after the initial session takes place, the team assessment is implemented a second time. Results are compared to evaluate the effects of the leader's follow-up efforts, changes in team members' perceptions, and change in development stage of the team.
* Refers to Tuckman's stages of team development: forming, storming, norming, performing. Each stage requires different leadership behavior to move the team forward and, ultimately, into the performing stage.
